The Bollywood-themed 2006 Red Hot Gala brought together spicy Eastern elements for an evening to honor a special Chicago non-profit organization. One hundred and seventy guests entered a Bollywood film set at a venue that provides vast white spaces, which we drowned in red and transformed into an Indian oasis and nightclub. Red lights and sounds from the Taj Mahal flooded the reception area.Custom designed table linens made from Indian saris from Chicago's Devon Market covered square tables and ottomans, where guests enjoyed unique Indian cuisine. Traditional Indian culture was fused with new urban song and dance on stage.
