You’ve all heard of it. Maybe you’ve used one. We all inadvertently refer to it as a flip phone, but it’s not a phone. It’s the Flip Video Camera and it’s awesome. I initially wanted to purchase one for work to capture behind-the-scene video moments for the two-week incentive trip we planned over the summer (see What We Did This Summer!). We ended up getting 8 and branding them with our EA logo (which is a super cool feature that the Mino line has.) Now 3 months later, I’m so glad we did this. We’ve used them for 6 different major events and they’re great! We also branded a few we will raffle off at the Microsoft Vendor Showcase we will be attending in Seattle in October.

Yes, the Flip is cool, and it’s even easier to use. With the touch of a button it records hi-definition videos, and the flick of a switch a USB arm pops out to upload to your computer and charge through it. I carry one with me 24/7 in case something happens that I want to record to post on the blog. No wonder Mashable named it #6 of the
Top Ten Gadgets for Social Media Addicts.
You DO need to be very steady when shooting with it as it doesn’t have an “auto-steady” feature implemented in to it. But at the size of an iPod, that is not a huge sacrifice.
I absolutely recommend investing in the Flip Video Camera if you are in the industry. Great for recording behind-the-scenes shots and set-up. Happy recording!
