Procter & Gamble's "My Black is Beautiful" Tour
The Procter & Gamble name encompasses several brands geared toward African-American women. To show their commitment to a growing clientele, Procter & Gamble (P&G) sought to develop a national initiative that would show their commitment to celebrating African-American women. This new initiative included a personal, tactile experience for consumers; an opportunity to try P&G targeted brands:
Always * Crest * Olay Definity * Pantene * Cover Girl Queen Collection * Tampax
The events also provided a platform for African-American women to discover and proclaim their inner and outer beauty through panel discussions, spoken word opportunities, concerts and fashion shows.
Carol H. Williams Advertising, the company hired by Proctor & Gamble to produce the My Black is Beautiful Tour 2008, partnered with Event Architects to target African-American communities in five national regions: Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, New Orleans, LA and Washington, DC.
